On December 17th, 2024 the second day of training of professionals was held on the Faculty of technical sciences of University of Pristina, in Kosovska Mitrovica. Prof. Dr. Jordan Radosavljević, Dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, highlighted the importance of training professionals in the field of transport of dangerous goods. Prof. Dr. Živče Šarkovćević and prof. dr Miloš Pljakić gave a detailed presentation on the importance of addressing the transport of dangerous goods, outlining the risks, and providing an overview of the subject’s relevance in the context of modern transportation systems. In this session, Dr. Aleksandra Petrović discussed the key legislative and regulatory frameworks that govern the safe transportation of dangerous goods, both at the international and regional levels. All participants had the opportunity to visit the Traffic and Transport Laboratory at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, where they can see real-world applications of the concepts discussed during the training.
Participants concluded by discussing the logistical
challenges of dangerous goods transport. They recognized the need for effective planning and coordination in the supply chain to ensure the safe handling, storage, and transportation of hazardous materials. The group agreed that a well-integrated logistical
system, supported by advanced technologies, is essential for mitigating the risks involved in the transport of dangerous goods.
